On August 31st, Fixing Fathers, Inc., held its annual Fishing with Dad’s event at the Beaver Pond Park, in New Haven, Connecticut. Parents and their children were treated to a two hour informative training session facilitated by Doreen Abubaker and Loreen Lawrence. Both Doreen and Loreen are certified instructors for CT Aquatic Resource Education and have been teaching courses in New Haven for 10 years.

Fixing Fathers, Inc. visits the Father F.A.C.T.O.R. Program in New Haven
On June 29th 2019, Healthy Start of New Haven, a program funded by the Community foundation of Greater New Haven, held a forum aimed at teaching New Haven organizations and the community about the procedures associated with the various Judicial Branches of government here in New Haven Connecticut.
Men’s Empowerment & Development Program
On June 11, 2019, I stopped by the Community Action Agency of New Haven to talk to a group of fathers who are enrolled in an 8 week program, The Father F.A.C.T.O.R. The program is aimed at strengthening families while building a network of resources for fathers. The goal of the program is to share and increase their knowledge on what it means to be an effective father throughout their child's life, while also helping them to play a more active role in nurturing and raising their children.

Fixing Fathers Inc. was honored to have co-sponsored the Men’s Empowerment and Development Breakfast program. The collaborative efforts of Powerhouse Temple Church, Men’s Resource, and Fixing Fathers, Inc., illustrated how men can support one another with brotherly love, integrity, and without judgment. The breakfast was held at the Powerhouse Temple church in New Haven, with the purpose of facilitating discussions relevant to men in the community.
Our 20 college-bound students representing Hamden Hall, Highville Charter School, Engineering and Science University Magnet School, Sacred Heart Academy, Cooperative Arts & Magnet High School, Hamden Middle School, and Dunbar Hill Elementary School truly enjoyed the tour of the campus and Ms. Dayle’s detailed presentation.
